Along with my love for Liberty London fabric, last year I discovered how fun it was to make mug rugs. It was a quick project I could finish in an afternoon and a great scrapbuster as well. With Valentine’s day around the corner, I thought I would show you a few that I finished last year using a fussy cut coaster mug rug pattern I developed to showcase some of my favorite prints.
My first attempt at a miniature quilt was using a precious Liberty Hello Kitty scrap. The finished block measures approximately 4.75″ x 4.75″. More details in my post here.

For all my mug rugs I used this walking foot
My next coaster rug mug measured 6.75″x 6.75″ because I wanted to fussy cut the center to fit this precious Heather Ross goldfish print.
Then I tried making a larger mug rug in conjunction with my heart pattern so I could set my mug down and still see this Heather Ross mermaid focal point. I loved how this one turned out!
