Welcome to this week’s edition of Tips and Clips. If you missed the previous edition, you can read about it here. This week’s theme is sewing tools.
1. I saw this featured article on Sewing Craft Gossip and discovered there is such thing as an electronic seam ripper! From the Amazon reviews it’s actual a beard trimmer, but I won’t quibble if it can rip those seams in less than a minute.
2. Have you ever used blue painter’s tape for something other than painting? It’s quite handy as a stitching guide on your sewing machine or on your project to sew even lines for topstitching. Here’s an article that talks about using masking tape but painter’s tape will work too.
3. Pattern weights are expensive. I made mine using metal washers and they work great. Here’s an article that describes how to make your own.
4. I recently came across a tool called a Hera Marker that will create a crease in your fabric making it easier to fold. Here’s an article I found that talks about this handy tool.
That’s it for this week’s edition. Happy “mad” sewing
