Welcome to this week’s edition of Tips and Clips. If you missed last week’s edition, you can read about it here. To recap, this is meant to be a compilation of “tips” or “clips” about sewing, fabric, sales, or articles I’ve stumbled upon that I found interesting and hope you’ll find useful as well.
1. To continue on the hexie posts I linked last week, this week I found a 3 part tutorial on how to make hexies and includes a link to a lovely free project pattern.
2. If you want to cut your own hexies for paper piecing, here is a great post with a PDF download of hexie templates with different sizes and instructions on how to cut multiple hexies at a time.
3. I mentioned the “It’s Sew Easy” series in a previous Tips and Clips post. Here is a video from the series that shows how to sew multiple half square triangles that I found very useful.
4. If you’re interested in making a tabletop ironing board, here is a post I found that shows you how to make one out of a piece of plywood.
5. I really hate setting in woven sleeves and this post shows an easy way to ease in sleeves. I’m going to give this method a try the next time I set in a sleeve.
That’s it for this week’s edition. Happy “mad” sewing!
