To continue destashing my Liberty fabric collection, I decided to indulge in some selfish sewing and use one of my fabrics for a new spring top. I chose this lovely Liberty Hera peacock feather print I saw used in this J.Crew shirt. I used my favorite Simplicity pattern 1377 view E also seen here and here.
It was harder to align the feather print when cutting the pattern pieces than actually sewing up this top. I realized afterwards I much prefer sewing with prints that are not directional =)
Here is close up of this lovely print. I have some left over fabric that I listed in my Etsy shop here if you are interested in purchasing this print.
Have you indulged in any selfish sewing recently using Liberty fabrics?
What a lovely top, and what gorgeous fabric 🙂
It is really pretty. I like that you shortened sleeves. That will make it cooler for the summer.
